Last-Minute Christmas Gifts for Your Autistic Child

My son Christopher, on Christmas day when he was still a little guy.

If you’re finding it tough to find gifts for your autistic child, you’re not alone! Locating the perfect present for someone who doesn’t want what any other kid wants is such a challenge

To take some of the pain out of your special needs holiday giving, I am going to share some ideas that have worked for me. Starting today, I’ll post a new idea each day before Christmas.

I hope these “out of the box” present solutions work for you!

Super-Easy Autism Gift Idea Number One: A Christmas Scavenger Hunt

Why I love this: it’s so easy. Just download and print, then get in the car with your child and drive around while you search for each item on the list.

Note: this version requires reading. If you need images, please let me know, I can create a version for kids who do better with pictures.

Welcome

Hello and welcome to Autism Loves!

If you are a parent looking for autism-friendly activities, mom-tested resources, and proven behavioral tips for your child, welcome. I am so glad you are here. I created Autism Loves just for people like you.

I have spent over a decade finding the best after-school, travel, recreation and leisure activities of every sort for my family and my autistic son, Christopher. I have also been guided, all these years, by some of the most knowledgeable and experienced professionals in the field. I’ve learned countless tips and ideas for coping with some of autism’s biggest challenges.

It seemed a shame to keep all of this good stuff to myself. So I created Autism Loves to share with you, my fellow autism parents and caregivers, the many wonderful things I have learned over the years. My goal is to help you and your child have fun and live a great life – without using your precious time searching for hard-to-find resources or tackling endless behavioral problems.

Thank you for visiting! I hope you enjoy Autism Loves, and that it makes your life better in some way.

With love and gratitude,

Julie
